Patsy Treece's distinguished healthcare background and her passion for music education have significantly benefited the Northshore School District community. For 36 years, she was a nurse at Harborview Hospital and authored many publications on end-of-life care, as well as visiting other countries to help them with this work. As a volunteer, she assisted with health screenings at Lockwood Elementary School and was part of the Northshore Team Vaccine, finding vaccine opportunities for all Northshore staff in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Treece has been a strong advocate for music education in the school district. She founded Northshore Music Partners to ensure that every student in the district has access to a musical instrument, which has enabled countless students to participate in music programs. She also helped organize ensembles to perform at school board meetings to raise awareness of the importance of music education. For her efforts, Treece was honored by the Washington Music Educators Association as a Northlake Region Friend of Music. Additionally, Treece was a longtime volunteer in her children's PTAs and served on many PTA boards. She helped organize disaster preparedness at both Lockwood Elementary and Kenmore Junior High. Since 2019, she has been a Northshore Schools Foundation board member and served as its president for two terms. For more than 10 years, Treece has been a volunteer with Citizens for Northshore Schools. In 2024, she was honored by Microsoft as a local changemaker. Treece's unwavering commitment to the Northshore community has made a meaningful and significant impact on thousands of children and families.
