Dr. Frank Love had a dedication to public education that spanned 30 years. In 1958, he taught in Pomeroy, Washington, for three years before teaching in the Shoreline School District where he became an administrator. In 1974, Dr. Love progressed to the Northshore School District as assistant superintendent and was named superintendent in 1981. He played a substantial role in the expansion and improvement in the district's curriculum as well as the district's growth in student enrollment and new schools. Dr. Love was praised for his collegial leadership style. The broader community benefited tremendously from his involvement. Dr. Love integrated his role deeply into the Bothell community. He played a part in ensuring equal access to district facilities for after-school community meetings and activities for the Scouts and other designated youth groups. Under his leadership, the district built an enduring partnership with the Northshore YMCA, which allowed the Y to run licensed before- and after-school childcare programs in elementary schools. He served on the governance side of the Bank of Northshore, helping guide community-focused banking decisions for families and businesses. Additionally, he coached Little League. Dr. Love was a longtime, active member of the Kiwanis Club of Northshore. In 2002, the Dr. Frank Love Memorial Scholarship was established with the Scholarship Foundation of Northshore to honor his legacy. Dr. Love passed away in 1988, shortly after retiring. Dr. Love's many accomplishments and dedication to education and the community were recognized when the school board named the new elementary school in 1990 in his honor.
