Dr. Kim McBride has always had a fascination with the study of psychology. She received her M.A. in Psychology from Antioch University, an M.A. Certificate from Fielding Graduate University and her Ph.D. in marriage and family therapy (MFT) from Northcentral University. She has taught Graduate and Ph.D. programs at Antioch and designed many of its family therapy courses. Dr. McBride was a sought-after instructor in the Couples and Family Therapy Program at Antioch, known for her skills at graduate instruction and curriculum development. She was awarded the 2013 Washington Association of Marriage and Family Therapy Educator of the Year. She and her husband, Jim, founded Envision Counseling where she is the clinical director. Dr. McBride's has impacted many people through her volunteer efforts. Without charge, she regularly supervises counselors and social workers. She sees clients who need her help at no charge. Since 2012, she volunteers her time to provide supervision to licensed mental health counselor associates to satisfy their supervision hour requirements. Dr. McBride has been active as a consultant and public speaker across the U.S., including volunteer speaking engagements at workshops and conferences. Providing community mental health outreach, she has worked with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and made voluntary presentations at multiple chapters. She sees the best in others, treats them with respect and helps them find their capacity for positive change. Her greatest success is less about all she has accomplished and more about the compassion and energy she brings to professional tasks and relationships.
