Carmin Dalziel, BHS 1989

Northshore Schools Foundation Stalwart Leader,

Tireless Ally for District Staff, Students & Families

Carmin Dalziel truly made an impact on students and education in the Northshore School District during her 13 years as executive director of the Northshore Schools Foundation. Thousands of educators, students and their families have received support and funding that have enriched education in the school district. The foundation provided classroom grants to teachers, musical equipment for students, financial aid to teachers obtaining their national certification, and backpacks filled with school supplies for students. Dalziel was instrumental in developing and delivering this support. The foundation served the school district community in many ways. During the COVID pandemic, Dalziel saw to it that families suffering financially received grocery store gift cards for purchasing food. She would also personally visit families who were referred to her. Dalziel developed an extensive network to support and fund the work of the foundation. As the executive director, Dalziel had great energy and creative ideas to extend the reach of the foundation. She was involved in the local chambers of commerce as well as Kiwanis and Rotary clubs. Additionally, she attended and partnered with other non-profits and community activities, such as the Wall of Honor Induction Ceremony. Dalziel looked beyond her job description to find ways that she could further assist families and students in the Northshore community. She served for one year on the Northshore School District Youth Advisory Council that was created to give students a voice. She was always deeply committed to serving students and families and devoted many extra hours, days and weeks to better the Northshore community.
